I have a Savage110 in 7mm mag and its a very nice bolt gun.I bought it as a package with scope rings and hard case.Got rid of the scope&rings put on a 6.5-20x50mm simmons with a good set of rings and been happy ever since, very accurate and only about 550 to 600 invested.

Yes, you can get a Savage 10fp (Tactical).

It's actually very accurate. I love mine.

Factory stock sucks...change it ASAP.

I hear they are fairly accurate and well made, but damned they are ugly.

Don`t be afraid of savage.....they`ve been around a long time.....are pretty fussy about the barrels and decent accuracy.....most bad press is due to the fact that many people feel if you don`t spend big bucks...it just CAN`T be good.....this is b-s......check wally-mart for good prices.....they`re not "seconds" either....if you buy a "combo"....fit a better scope on it first thing....save some money...get a savage.........

I picked up pretty much the same rifle at an estate sale except it had a Redfield scope on it and a little Harris bi-pod.  I think I paid about $200 for it.  It's very accurate but kicks like a friggin' mule since it's very light.  I would definitely recommend them

I just picked up a Model 12FV – with AccuTrigger in 22-250 Rem and the 3 shot groups are smaller than a dime at 200 yards.  Will that work for you?  Bob

They are very accurate guns, at least my 10fpLE with accutrigger is.  With less than 100 rounds down the tube, it printed a .394 group this weekend.

You need to find someone who has a new one, or knows what a new one looks like.

The old models have a shitty stock, you will need to replace it.  Figure anywhere from $60-$400 for a good replacement.

If you get the old model you will need a good trigger/trigger job figure $35-$200 for a good trigger tune.

When you figure all that in, it starts to approach the box stock performance of most Winchesters, Remington, and other rifles of which you now have almost matched in price.

My best friend looked at this fairly extensively after I recommended he could get a Savage for under $400....

I picked up the last model I saw in the local fun store and the stock can be pinned to the barrel with moderate pressure exerted from my hand.....

I guess you need to go and look at one and see if the quality matches with your needs.

I picked up the 10FP-LE1. The accu-trigger is great. The stock sucks. I am doing home-made stock work since I cant afford the $500 stocks out there. B-square had bout the cheapest base for it and the signiture zee rings mmeant i didnt have to do any lapping.
