so im looking to switch from .223 to .308 on my remington 700, comeing from the world of the AR-15 wher parts fall from the sky to the  world of the remington 700.... anway, midway usa sells bolt bodys but i need a left hand bold. Gunsmith at gander Mt (he was not vary helpful) told me he coud do some work on my .223 bold to make it a .308, is that the best way? well its that or trade in my .223 rem for a .308.
anyone got any advice

I'd sell or trade in the rifle rather than convert it.

It will probably be cheaper to trade to another rifle than to convert.
