Specifically, the extractor & recoil springs: are these necessary? Do they truly improve action &/or reliability?

Got one of those Wolfe recoil springs in my CAR15, doesn't do anything for me one way or the other.  I think the spring is 10% more powerful than the factory standard. It is suppose increase reliability, but I never had any problems, even with the old factory spring.

I don't know about the reliability thing, I havent had any problems with any quality springs I've used. But what I do know about Wolff is that in my Pro Carry, I have to replace the recoil spring every 8-900 rnds. With the Wolff it goes to 1200. Should be the same in the AR.

They help with bolt bounce on full auto more than anything. My 11" M16 needed one to function reliably.
