is a pre-ban Olympic arms w/collapsible stock and stainless steel barrel worth $900?

If it's in really good shape, and of course if you're willing to spend that much....

I bought one not too long ago, but it was a 20" A1, like new, for $900, but it came with 6 Colt 30's and a bayonet. Ended up selling the upper and am building an M4gery out of it.

i just talked to the cop who owned it before the gun shop sold it to me and he was the original owner. bought complete before the ban... so it's a pre-ban!!

Man, if it's in good shape, jump on it! That's about what I payed for mine (plus some mags, case). Built mine into an M4gery. I've seem some crappy Oly lowers, but mine looks great (better than some preban Bushy's I've seen). Check out the finish on it, and how tight the mag well is. If all is good, again, jump on it!

While Olympic lost all their records, they have a list of serial number ranges and corresponding dates of manufacture on their web site. I presume you can verify preban status with this, although I have no idea of the legal validity of this method.

See www.olyarms.com

Woops, I checked this again... These are dates of manufacture of the receivers, and the law is based on the date the firearm was assembled. Ignore my post above.

Friggin' government bureaucrats.
