So long story short....guess not that short
I got maried last August and I got my wife a new computer she had been wanting for a wedding gift. She was not sure what to get me and said that she will buy me a gun I wanted when I found one that I liked. Well I have been wanting a M1a for a very long time, but just did not want to spend the money right away. My wife went home to visit her parents this weekend, it is about a 3 hour drive, she calls me Friday night and says that one of her fathers friends was selling some rifles that he did not want any more. One was a M1a that had only 30 to 40 rounds through it, but did not want it anymore because it was "way to damn heavy to lug around" and did not want it anymore. She said it looked funny but was told it worked perfect. He wanted $1000.00 for it. She said it looked good, but it looked like something from one of my Call of Duty games. I said if it looks like an ok deal then to get it for me and that would be my gift. I have a friend that is a Springfield tech and if something did not work or was broken then I know it could be fixed. So she comes home today and has the rifle in a rifle case, I open it up and good GOD what was in there..... a brand new SAI M1a with a Navy Gray Sage EBR setup with grip, sling and two brand new mags still in blue plastic. This thing is PERFECT and new, I am like a kid on Christmas morning. Will get pics up in just a bit, oh and I am the guy who got the Springfield M1 Garand from a guy at work for $50.00 last year, I just keep getting amazing deals when it comes to Springfield. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u21/pbbradt/DSC01467.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u21/pbbradt/DSC01464.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u21/pbbradt/DSC01463.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u21/pbbradt/DSC00833.jpg I dont know how to make the pics smaller on this computer, sorry. Oh, and while looking up stuff on the sage ebr, looks like this may be one of the mod 0's. |

What a funny looking heavy paperweight. Looks like somebody got a bad end of that deal!
Get it off the bed and out by the trash along with that old firewood looking thingy. BTW....what's your address? My wife doesn't buy me stuff like that. She is an angel and is fully supportive of my condition. Now, go find Kevin. |

Bring that sweet thing down to Georgia and I'll check it out for ya!
You can bring the new rifle to ![]() |

I hate you.
But love your wife. Would she mind making a trip to VA and doing some gun shopping for me? ![]() |

What next? "I took a dump the other day, and whaddya know?? I found a 20# gold nugget in the crapper!!!!"
Are you serious? $1000?? I for one don't believe it. $2000, I believe that. |

I'm thinking the wife might have not told the OP the real price. Anyone current enough to have that sort of set-up should really know the value of it. That is unbelievable right there. I expected a stocker clicking on to this post, but not that! Anyway even if the wife paid 2k for it and somehow hid the extra cost she is a pretty great wife indeed. Nice score on both accounts. |

Could be that she bought it from a guy named Guido, aka Tommy No Nose, out of the back of a van with out of state plates in an alley in the bad part of town......may not be a legal sale.

I swear that we did not spend a cent more than $1000.00 for the rifle. Like I said, it was a friend of her family and he just wanted to get rid of it because he said it was too heavy. If you dont believe me thats ok. Will get some pics of the wife with the rifle soon.
