Can it be done? Coles has them for $600ish and it would fun to take on for a project if it can be done.

I don't think it is legal to build an open bolt gun anymore. To easy to convert to full-auto per the ATF.

There's really no practical way to build a closed bolt gun without practically re-machining or making new just about every part in the gun.

By the time you get done buying the expensive full-auto parts and somehow converting them to work semi-auto only, you could buy a semi-auto Kahr/Auto Ordnance 1927 model.

This is one of those Great Ideas that just don't work in the real world.

That's a good price for a kit, if it's in good shape. However, you're not allowed to build an open bolt semi anymore, so you'd have to do a lot of custom work and machining to make it closed bolt.
