Is there a way to lighten the safety push off? i LOVE my 308 tanker garand except it's almost impossible to push off the safety with the front of my trigger finger. any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply Chuck, thats how I have been doing it. I was just trying to get a shot off a little faster.

It should be stiff, but it should also be quite possible to push it off with the trigger finger.

well, it seems possible to do with your trigger finger, as i did it this past saturday. however, i did notice that using my thumb instead was a lot easier, so that's what i'm now in the habit of doing.

I let off the safety on My M1 and M14S with my trigger finger. I simply push forward like I'm pointing my finger. It's stiff but not what I would describe as painful. Hell, I thought that's the way you're supposed to do it.

Take the safety out and file the point down a bit that rides the spring arm. than put it back together and lube it with some lubriplate.

You should be able to engage and disengange the safety with your trigger finger, Some rifles are just stiff, try some lube ..
