They make one with a semi trigger pack. ATF says its a machine gun, but its banned from import anyway. You can get them in Canada, I heard. Doesn't make any sense.

You could buy a full auto HK94. Costs about $8k or so. Or you could buy a semi auto HK94 and make it a Short Barrel Rifle. They've been banned for importation for a while. About $4k I think. Or you could contact somebody like Jayson at Investment Grade Firearms and have him build a clone for you (Special Weapons makes clones, but they apparently can't make their own guns work while other gunsmiths can. Go figure). That's what I'm probably going to do. Or have him build me a semi MP5K clone. Cheaper then the real stuff, and it will shoot. |

check out www.ohiorapidfire.com. They take the same parts kit that Special Weapons uses and builds WORKING rifles for the same cost as Special Weapons (now known as Tactical-Weapons).

Look at the SP89. I think that is still importable!

Nope, I think the tightening of BATF's 'sporting purpose' test by executive order in 1989 was the last time SP89's were able to get into the U.S. for civilians. |

you can find an SP89 for 3000-3500 and then register it as an SBR and put a stock on it.

SP89s were importable until the clinton administration, when he banned them by executive order in 1993. http://www.hkpro.com/sp89.htm They would still be legal to make in the US, under a different name, and only with the foregrip and registered as an AOW to escape the 50 oz AW law. 'least until next summer. |

I went the SP89 route. Got it registered and added a stock and k-grip. It's semi only, but way fun to shoot!

Best place is on the receiver under the trigger housing. There's enough room there, and it doesn't 'ugly' up the gun since it's not visible when assembled. |

You could go with a special weapons sw5-fs model. When you get your paper work back from atf you take off the fake suppressor and you are left with a mp5 3 lug barrel. You don't have to pay a someone to cut your barrel, which could be less desirabe on a $3500 HK 94.
You can pick up the sw-5 fs anywhere between 1350-1600. Only down side is you have to use a full stock. I have both 94 and sw5 both fire well, and both are reliable. I heard there were some problems with older sw's so you may want to look for one manufactured in the last couple years. |
