Ok if you wanted to get a class 3 weapon and you really have a budget on this what would be the best weapon to purchase. And feeding this thing would be budgeted too.

A Vector Uzi is reasonable, alot of fun, built like a tank, and very versatile. Its not the least expensive out there but a good value. For <$3000

A Mac is only $1000.
Thats the cheapest I know of.

well the cheapers way to get started in any class 3 is a supproser aka a silencer they can be had for under 500 bucks including the tax stamp!

why do you want to go class III?

if you just want full auto fire try "bump fire" or a JP target trigger.
Da bump is free and a JP is about $200.00

Vector Uzi.  For $2800 street price + $200 NFA tax, you have a heat treated, first rate submachine gun.

Macs are OK but a little crappily made, hard to control without a suppressor, and have much more limited financial appreciation potential.

Macs are great starter guns.

I would suggest an M11/9. Maybe I am not impartial since a M11/9 was my first C3 purchase. To answer all the naysayers, Yes it is a bullet-hose at 1000+ RPM, but goddamn is it fun. As cheap as 9MM ammo is I have absolutley no desire to slow it down. I just need to get a drum mag for it.

However they are still relativley affordable. If you look you can still break under the 1000 dollar mark.

They are acres of accessories for them. M11s are starting to become the 10/22s of the C3 world. Tons of accessories and parts availble.

Easy to work on for a novice with no shortage of NIW spare parts and High Cap magazines.

They are cheap to feed, reliable as hell and mine eats $89 case Wolf 9MM all day long.

I know that for my first machingun, the last thing I wanted was a slow rate of fire. Nothing puts a smile on your face by dumping 30+ rounds it under a second.

However, "budget" will no longer be part of your vocabulary once you get into this hobby as MGs have started to consume almost all of my disposable income. C3 is addictive as hell.

Might want to look at a Ruger AC 556.  They will run around $3000-$3300.

these are good ideas but for your answer on the reason why 308wood. Bumping is fun but as for aiming a bump fire is almost impossible. and the tack triggers suck! so why not just get the real thing instead of playing around with imitations

My dad picked up a new looking M11/9 for $1200 shipped to his FLL.  It's loads of fun and cheap to shoot.

hte best value in class 3 now is a 76/45 sweede. .45 cal supressed SMG uses grease gun mags. its a blast, and thier plentyfull(so to speak) right now

If you want to start out slow with NFA weapons**, the cheapest thing you could get it a Gemtech Outback suppressor for the Walther P22!  Only $299 (plus the $200 tax and the cost of getting the barrel threaded).  VERY light & WAY COOL!!  The only problem is it will lead to another NFA weapon, then another, and another . . .

Probably the best buy right now is the Vector Uzi.  It will be the last chance to buy a newly manufactured submachine gun.  It's also stamped "9mm/.45/.22" on the receiver so you can buy caliber conversions WITHOUT an additional tax stamp!  Not many .22 subguns out there.

**Some people get a little confused.  The DEALER has a Class III license.  The WEAPON is a NFA weapon.  I always figure people who call the weapon a Class III don't own one & don't know the difference.  (yes, I'm picky, but it's important to be precise)
