just picked up a 1300 practical with a normal stock, I really like the ergos of a pistol grip and i need a folder for space considerations. any recommendations or know of any problems with what's available out there?

Knoxx CopStock, highly recommended.

+High quality product.
+Excellent customer service.
+Recoil reduction system works great.
+Lightweight yet rugged.
+Pistol grip hugs the trigger guard (looks cleaner than a Speedfeed IMO).
...I'm sure others will add onto the list of positives...

Only two negatives I can think of, and one only applies to me personally...
-Length of pull is a bit long for me (5'-8", 140 lbs).
-In order to remove the internals of the weapon, you must first remove the stock.

All in all, if I was dead-set on getting a folding stock, it'd be none other than a Knoxx.

Here are a couple visual previews...

that looks really good, do you know what sort of recoil compensator is in there? i'm afraid that it might put me into unlimited class in 3 gun.

The compensation is in the pistol grip and will not place you in the open or unlimited class.
