Got into a large supply of 45acp brass and after loading a few I'm noticing that only the A-MERC brass won't fit in my go/no go gauge or my 1911.  Fits in the H&K USP fine though.

Anyone familiar with this brass or is it known to have issues?

I spun it around inside the gauge to show what was hanging up.

Most go in till about here, only had one out of 20 go in all the way like it should.

Insert any/all A-MERC brass directly into recycle bin.

It is known as being very poorly made brass.

Some of the worst brass made.  Directly in the recycle can will be the best use.

crush the case mouths with a pair of pliers too, so no one else accidentally uses it.

A'yup, I have always had problems with A-Merc brass in .45ACP.

I can't really recollect coming across A-Merc brass in 9mm  and .40S&W .

If someone is going to make total garbage brass - they should at least have the courtesy of using berdan primers with it.
(Ahem, talking to you Norinco, A-MERC, and Federal)

Just yesterday I loaded about 50 rounds of range-pickup Amerc 9mm. Seemed fine. Every case went into the case gage as easy as any other. Haven't shot it yet ...

Anything I should watch out for?

Worst brass I've ever seen. Bought a box of their .45acp ammo one time and the case mouths looked like a hole saw.

This...

Let's put it this way... If it were a website instead of brass, it would be healthcare.gov

I have a coffee can of them.  All of the primer holes are off center, only brass i have like that.

I have loaded and shot them once, they were ok so far.  Guess I better watch them carefully.  Internet is loaded with cautions.

A recall!!   Looks like their loaded ammo is more interesting than the brass.

Thankfully I have encountered only 4 of these I found on the range. I reloaded them, all fail to plop but barely chamber, they were shot, and were left at the range for someone else to learn to avoid...

They all drop right into the H&K. I figure I made some so ill just blast them out of that.  Anyone see an issue on that?  The brass is just waaaaaaaay out of spec for reloading but will shoot fine..... Right?

The brass may have some serious hardness or weakness issues.

Should  I would shoot what I had loaded already, and then scrap it all.

I probably would.  Probably a good day to remember the eye protection.  Maybe some shooters gloves.

I broke my first decap pin on a piece of A-MERC .38spl

Off center flash hole.

I'm collecting it in a recycle bin.

That was nasty stuff back in the 90's.  At a local indoor range, A-MERC ammo was the only ammo they had for 45acp on the day that I went to shoot.  About half a dozen rounds were trash right from the box.  I took the empties home and threw them into the reload box.  When I went to reload these, the primer holes were off center, jamming the decap pin, some of the cases did not fit the shell insert while at least one had its rim tear off while extracting the case from the resizer die.

Complaints about A-MERC seem to resurface every few years.  I seem to remember "Miami" on the box.  Of course, YMMV!

I am a complete brass whore but I toss A-MERC into the the recycle bucket.

When I started, I always tossed out AMERC because everyone told me to.

One day, I thought to myself "How bad can it be?"  So, I grabbed one of the AMERC shells out of my recycle bucket, and went to reload it.  On the first resizing, it split all the way down the case.

"Ah, well.... I guess that's how bad it can be!"

funny. I just ran into this myself. I had priming issues (don't know how I didn't lite off the primer) primer was all crushed in sideways. had two more that didn't feel right  and had to pull the plate off to get them off since the primers were starting to crumple again. all three same headstamp. so I had to stop production and go through the entire lot picked them out and tossed them.
