Stupid me - I put my Spectre sling on my 870 Max using the factory stud and the sling blocks the Surefire light on the fore end. What is a good heavy duty side mount to keep the sling and swivel out of the light beam?

GG&G and a few others.

I was about to do the same thing but instead did a single point GG&G. The weapon is so light that the single point made the most sense. I can swing the weapon to my left and under my arm (out of the way) while cuffing.

if you want to keep w/ a 2 or 3 point sling, wilson/SGT sells a side sling mount that goes between the barrel ring ( what ever technical name where the barrel attaches to the magazine tube ) and the magazine cap/ mag extension. like $10 IIRC.

i like mine w/ a 3 point sling, keeps the sling clear of my light. at work we have several 870's w/ the factory underneath sling mount and it is a problem w/ the surefire fore ends.

check out spectergear.com, they have great quality 3 point slings. Own 2 and am very satisfied with them. Heres a picture of the sling mount.
