Hello, I am -thinking- about making an HK 91 my "next" rifle.  There is a gunshow coming up in a couple of weeks.  Can anyone give me any *pointers* on buying an HK 91?  As usual, all info is greatly appreciated.   Thanks.....

Look for any dents on top of the receiver.  I have seen where previous owners use the B-square mounts a bit to extreme. They over torque the set screws and indent the top of the receivers.

Do not buy from a gun show, unless you know the seller.

By the way guys that is a sleeved flashhider. I bored the hider to 1/2 inch then pressed in a 1/2 inch piece of steel tubing and TIG welded the outside edges smooth. then sanded and polished out the weld ripples.

what kind of advise is that?  why not buy at a show if you find a decent deal?

I too am interested in one of the real deals. So if a show is not the place to pick one up, where should I look? The net? Talk about not knowing the guy your doing business with.

What other words of wisdom can you all inpart?

Wait a few days and post a WTB on www.hkpro.com

I say to wait because the board is down right now, but should be up fairly soon.

I had a real HK91 and it's pretty expensive to buy everything that goes along with it. But, if your going to go all out you might as well buy the claw mount.  The light bi-pod is also a nice extra.  Good luck.

Why are some receivers black and others bluish?  Are there any models or types that HK made that are more desireable than others?  In other words, like the in the colt prebans, the small hole lowers with magfence that is drilled for a push pin is more desirable than other colt preban receivers.  Or are ALL HK 91's the same?  Anyhow, sorry for all the silly ass questions, as i said in my prvious thread, an HK91 will be my next rifle.  I dont know much about them.  They are expensive and i wanna make the right choice.  As always, all info will be appreciated.  Thanks again.
