I've got a Rock Ola and an IBM that need to be fed. Ammoman's got Federal and Wolf. Wolf is up there and Federal is even higher. Any recommendations on where to find decent .30 carbine ammo for a decent price?

I've got a can of USGI from the CMP, but I think they sold out a long time ago.

I did buy some S&B not too long ago, might give that a try.

I've got a bunch of Georgia Arms 110gr FMJ for plinking and some of their 110SP for more serious plinking.  It's remanufactured stuff but I've had zero problems with anything I've bought from them.  The SPs are noticeably more effective on evil attacking Sam's Choice sodas and zombie water filled plastic bottles.

I plan on reloading eventually. But i figure i'll buy a case, and when that runs out, reload the brass.

I'm jsut a bit leary of using steel cased wolf in sometihng liek this.

Ditto.  If you don't need a ton of .30 Carbine, combine it with some of their other good loads - but either way, order $500+ at once and the shipping's free.

Is steel-cased ammo bad to shoot though carbines? I just picked up an IBM and found a really good deal on Wolf ammo, but if it'll hurt the gun I'll just buy USGI.

Nothing wrong with WWB.  Some of the reloaders stay away from american eagle, they say the brass is thin and week for reloading.  UMC makes a good one too.  In my carbine, the UMC is a hair more accurate than WWB so far.  I did use a box of S & B.  It seemed a little weaker than wwb or umc.  But fine for plinkin.

Same thing i was thinking. THere's some good deals out there on Wolf. But i'm a bit iffy on using it on a piece like that.

I don't think S&B is weak at all. FWIW I have shot S&B in 9mm, .45, some .223, and 30 Carbine and I have never had a problem with it. I believe they make ammo for some of the US branded big name stuff when they need it. It cost me $9.21 a box when I bought 1K. Pretty reasonable when the local store had WWB stuff for 15+ a box.

Well, that was my impression of the stuff I shot.  It didn't hinder performance however.  Bolt cycled fine and everything.  So I'm not saying it was a bad round.  Just seemed to me not as hot as the other two.  I will agree, price is better.

+1 for canned heat GA. arms ammo is good stuff they make it to all the big shows plus they take phone and web sales. There 30 cal carbine 223 & 308 is all new ammo from mild to hot you can't beat it unless you roll your own.

Aguilla makes .30 carbine. Brass cased and fairly clean.
