Not too shabby...fired a few test rounds using the 125grn lead zombie coat bullet from lucky13bullets.com today...

Test rifle was a BM59SL and I used the 125s over 43.0gr WC846... fired 5 shots ..all hit the paper and made nice round holes. Distance was 25yds....all 5 went into 2"... not that great but I was only testing function and to see if the bullets stayed together. All rounds fed from the mag and the bolt locked to the rear. Will work on accuracy next.....these were sized .309 but I also have some sized .312..may try those as well...

So far there is potential to have a 200yd or less "plinker" bullet for about .06ea...

Good news!!! No oprods were bent nor were any kittens killed!

Bad news....the .312s grouped worse than the .309s.. Got two different groups about 4" apart...2 shots here and 3 there....still at 25yds. No leading and no pressure issues.

Will try some .311s next time and see what happens...may just go back to .309s and play with the powder...

any idea how fast they were going with that load? I bought some in .309 and .311, but haven't started playing with them yet. I'm planning on plinking loads for several different calibers, but figured I'd have to stay below 2000 fps. I'm thinking you're above that, which would be cool.

I'm above 2000fps thats for sure....forgot the chrony as I was short on time. I would imagine I'm at 2500 at least..

I've read that 2000 FPS is the limit on powder coated bullets.

2" at 25 yards isn't acceptable.

I've seen reports of them going MUCH faster.... for instance my K-31 (7.5x55) using the same bullets and a full charge of 4350 put 3 rounds into a clover leaf..one a skosh high and 1 called flyer... So 3 touching and one a little a loose means there is potential. I haven't really settled on one rifle yet..I'm actually bouncing around between calibers and rifles playing around...seeing if anything clicks off the bat.

Next testing will be x39 and a VZ58 with full charge loads.... thats should be 2200fps min...

Those might be a good option for .300 Blackout plinker loads. Mine likes 125gr. bullets. But accuracy would have to be more like an inch at 25 yards.

Thats what Lucky13 is primarily making them for..however I don't have a .300 so I'm trying them in every other .30cal-ish caliber I have..(which is pretty much all the milsurps)

I'm still trying to get them to do a ~160-180grn ish coated bullet.....I was told these things take time and they have to get their 200+grn bullet for subsonic 300 out first...

I was actually out Sunday playing with their 123 grain coated .311s. They shot surprisingly well out of my Remington 700 in 308 with a 12 grain charge of 800x pushing them. I did get a 3 round group of slightly over an inch at 50 yards but I also was battling extreme fliers, usually on a cold bore. The M44 seemed to shoot them almost as well as the cheap surplus rounds but nothing terribly spectacular, tail boss did show some promise in it though. I might have to try a couple rifle powders, I had no idea they could be pushed that fast.
Accurate or not there's something appealing about a $.24 308 round haha.

Exactly.... Coke can accuracy at 100 would be fine with me....if I want to shoot for the xring I won't be using lead...
