What you guys are experiencing with your mainstream and custom products would be interesting to know.

I just don't know how well .308 cans apply to subsonic .300 whispers- I know a .300 whisper has more blast below 1050FPS than most .308's due to the heavier projectiles and powder charges used.

Its actually thee other way round
Since the case is so small you dont need so much powder  to get the powder to burn clean ( right pressure) less powder = less blast ,this of course depends on barrel length
And like when you reload for pistol ( the whisper is more like a pistol cartridge)heavier bullet = less powder to get the same velocity ( i assume we are talking about a ar based weapon )

For the can ,it should be more like a pistol can
I will try to find a link to someones very simple can ,,photos and video

I understand that some people are using SWR Trident's as 300 Whisper suppressors.

The Trident is rated for full auto 9mm, so I'm pretty sure it's a good match from a durability standpoint.

I have a friend that used my swr omega 30 on his compared to my swr trident 9 and the omega 30 was a better but not much . Also you pay a little more for the omega 30 but you can also get it to handle up to 300 mag which may be a plus for the customer base he has. Another thing to concider is the fact that most 9mm cans are threaded 1/2x28 and the muzzle will be pretty thin by the time its cut down 1/2 compared to 5/8 is quite a bit of diffrence and can also be the diffrence betwaeen a 1/2 moa and a 1 moa rifle.. just my 2 cents

On another note, I am in the process of building a 300 whisper bolt gun and my omega 30 will be on it not my trident 9!

ETA sas is selling 30cal cans for 400 and should be a better deal than the cost of building them yourself     www.ctssuppressors.com/prod02.htm
