I have a HK Tac with a B&T supressor and it has on its side that it can be used for 9mm, .40 and .45. I would love to get annother one but would like it to pull double duty .223/.22.

I imagine a 22lr supressor cannot make it on a .223 due to big variances of the cartridges, but I think a .223 could go down and on to a .22lr easily. Has anyone done this? I imagine the .223 would have more baffles and could be quieter.

It's been done.

The .223 can definately has more volume, but not necessarily more baffles. They're also, for the most part, considerably heavier than a .dedicated .22 suppressor and I think most people here would agree they're too heavy for regular usage on the average .22 rifle.

I've used my M4-02 on my P-22 before. It works fine. I wouldn't do it a lot because I don't want to much fouling on a sealed can.

A .223 suppressor works every bit as good as a 22lr specific suppressor. I bought an AAC Ranger
for an AR and ended up using it more on a full auto uzi with a 22lr conversion kit. Even though it is a sealed can it is made of stainless and inconel and you can use much stronger solvent to break up fouling that you cannot use on the typical aluminum 22lr can. The only disadvantage is the extra wieght. Most likely wont cycle on a 22 pistol unless you are handloading your own! I also use it on a benchrest 22 that I have but I wouldnt want to offhand shoot with it. Other than that they work great.

Your 9mm can will probably work well on 22LR also. The aperture size does not affect the performance as much as you would think. I was told that can volume does the most work on a 22. I have an AAC Phantom that did a great job suppressing a 22. It was difficult to tell that it was not working as well as a 22 can until I shot it side by side with a 22 can.
