Just wondering what it's costing you guys per round to reload .223 blasting ammo right now (55gr FMJ, etc).

Also maybe list the components you're using?

lowest cost is around 80$ a thousand. thats with surplus powder(WC844, back when it was 80$ a 8# jug) so figure half a jug for 1K rounds. thats 40$
primers 17$ a thousand
bullets 13$ a thousand for the pulled grade 3 that came in 30 cal ammo cans 2 summers ago.
brass is free as i scrounge at my range.
70$ for supplies, and say 10$ for ofsetting the giraud case trimmer, and case lube, and power to run the tumbler.
70-80$ i pay for plinking ammo

*LC once-fired cases purchased of the EE for $60 shipped.
*1K CCI primers $26 from local Sportsmans Warehouse.
*8lb jug of AA2230 $124 from local Sportsmans Warehouse.
*2K LC 55 grn bullets $132 shipped from EE ad couple months ago.

Total cost $214 per 1K (assuming 4 lbs of powder used).
or 21.4 cents per round.

Price is then $154 per 2nd K from reused brass.
or 15.4 cents per round.

Not to bad with purchasing all the components relatively recently and not years ago like some of the lucky people on here (stupid being young ).
