I've noticed the ZM's rifles have folding adjustable stocks. How the heck do they work, as you'd no longer have a buffer? Do they use a totally different upper design? Would the stock work on a pre-ban AR?

Not hijack your thread, but as long as you're on ZMs, has anyone tried putting the removable rear sight that mounts on the flattop in front of the red dot as  they do on the rifles on their website.  And how does that work out?  www.zmweapons.com

After briefly reading their website, it looks like they feature a gas-piston system, similar to an SKS or AK.  My best guess, anyway.

It works because the "buffer tube" is now in the front of the gun. ie, there is a spring that pulls the shortened bolt forward rather than one behind it pushing it forward. So it would not work with a pre ban gun, you would have to buy the entire kit (like $1600) and put it on the reciever from your preban rifle.
