Why is the 1950's production supposed to be better?

Thought the 70's was better, the 50's has really hard primers. Overall some of the most accurate 8mm I have ever shot, at least the 1979 stuff I have...

Where can i find 70 ammo?
SG has cheap 50's but i have read on other boards that they have split necks, and leacky\hard primers.

ANyone have any more info on this? I see ammunitionstore.com has 900 round cases of the 50s yugo for $50. Is it worth the trouble? I am most interested in using this ammo in a 1919a4 converted to 8mm. Would it be a better idea to pay a little bit more and buy the steel cased Romanian ammo?
