Just got my new YHM 762, and when I screw it tight onto the QD mount, it is right between a notch. (I have 2 mounts, both are the same)  If I back it off to a notch, its just a tad loose.  If it tighten it up tight, after a few shots it in the same notch as if I tightened it to the last notch (just a tad loose).  Is this normal?

There were darned few instructions in that precious little box.

I'm shooting it with a 300/221, and wow, does that quiet things down a lot.  The loudest thing I hear shooting it is the sproing in my ear from the buffer spring, and a Whump! when the bullet hits the berm.

Mine is the same way, granted I have only put about 350 rounds through it so far, but it has yet to back off more than that initial notch. I say its g2g.

In other words, tighten as far as it will go, then back off that degree or two until it latches in, and shoot it.

Yep that's what I did with no problems

I also had that issue. Now mine does tighten down all the way. Try takeing the snap ring off and rotate the ring with the teeth on in it 180 deg. I'm not sure if this is what fixed it for me, I had to take the mount apart for other reasons, now it seems that it does snug all the way tight.

Another "same here".  I hate that.  What's up with having fitment issues on a precision machined item like a QD can/mount combo?  I used to tighten it down before each shot, but now I just leave it on the last notch it'll catch.  Still kind of annoying though.

Mine does the same thing but If I put a little pressure on the collar after tightning it down it bumps over and locks. I noticed today after shooting in twenty degree weather after it cooled it was a bitch to get off!

I had the same problem with a AAC M41000 and the fear that the one tooth loose might get a end cap strike or worse. ––––––-Sure enough it did even if it were only "a touch" it was there. I remember posting about this and even called AAC and was told by everyone not to worry. It was on a 6940 so i assumed everything was good with the bbl. I just never liked the feel of it being one tooth on the loose side and have thought of ways after the fact to keep it tight on the QD mount. Has anyone fixed this problem on their own or was mine a fluke with the strike. It was with Lake City SS109 by the way.
