I think it would be handy but $18 is a little high.

BeeKeeper said it, the wife hates to give me a hand when I'm wrestling with the things as well as the comments. Shortys are a pain in the - ### and the tool would be a great idea. A loud color is reasonable. Let me know when available, I'll take 3.

I'll take one when you have them for sale.

There is another member here that made & sold HG removel tools sometime back. Worked on the same principal, leverage, one hand easy operation, although I don't remember if his removed one or both HG's at a time. And no I can't remember who it was either.

I think its a great idea. The price seems reasonable. I don't need one now, but could come in handy in the future.

Darrel's Custom Firearms makes these -- I've got one and it's the cat's meow, especially with shorty upper handguards.

I don't have the contact info for him handy, but the tool is carried by Brownell's -- stock number is 100-000-438

Retail is $24.95. There's a pic on the web site at www.brownells.com

I've got one of Darrell's too and it works great.
BTW, The one I have has rubber hose pressed over the areas that contact the delta ring - I think you would have to have a pretty strong plastic coating in that area for it to last.

Sign me up for one of yours. Been wanting to put an HG bipod adapter in, and no way to remove the handguards by myself.

Denny,

OT: Are you going to have a booth at the SHOT show this year?
