A couple of months ago a member had photos of a rifle case he made. Hard plastic with foam\sponge interior. It may have contained an M-4. I believe the person said he obtained the case at Sears, however I have not been able to locate a similar case. The lining was cut out to hold the weapon and accessories. I think the M-4 upper is about 20" long, pre-ban lower with telescoping stock is 15" long. The case wouldn't be very large.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

That sounds sort of like what I saw recently at the Maryland AR15 shooters site:

The thread is on the AR15 site in the (is it slings?) and other accessories.

Some have used the Craftsman 26" toolbox, but I prefer the Task Force (contico) glass fibre filled box at Lowes and Homedepot. It has a lock hasp where the Sears box doesn't.

Also there are a few ribs in the bottom that just happen to work out to be strategic places.

You can put two disassembled AR's side by side by alternating the upper and lower where they don't really touch. You can use up to a 16" with pin on muzzle brake attached. A 20" might fit, (I don't have one to try) if the upper diagonals up into the lid area?

I will check out the Maryland site for their version.

Thanks for the fast replies. I have the Maryland AR15 page in my favorites and will check it out.
