I have veered towards the nondescript for my daily GoBag in leu of the more popular Maxpedition type stuff.

No molle, no coyote or olive drab.   No morale patches.   No visible mags hanging on the side.

I recycled a "free" backpack/laptop bag that has a surprising number of pockets, zippers and internal volume.   The idea is it's something I can keep my BoB stuff in while still being able to go places without attention (mall, with kids, etc).   Short of a metal detector, I look like a typical middle-aged Dad or a back-to-school parent with a back pack.   It even has a couple of internal elastic loops that are great for a flashlight, etc.

The only problem is I will need to create an internal stiffener to not only help the bag maintain its shape, but also to have a stable platform to mount a pistol holster and mag holsters on internally.   The idea here is not so much to be able to draw quickly from it - but to simply have said items available in a nondescript case that can follow me everywhere (CCW or not).   Maybe something I can have in the car next to me if necessary.   I have some polycarbinate 3/8" sheets in the garage I was planning on using for a stiffener and to mount my pistol and mag holders on:  very very rigid, durable and also free, but the downside is that they are heavy.   Kydex is not ideal for what I have in mind - this is really just something to keep it all together for everyday out and about stuff, not a true 3-day pack or the like.

Anyone have their own they'ed like to share?     I'll post photos when mine is finished...  but I'm looking for inspiration.

HDPE

What about HDPE? Easy to cut, form, semi flexible if its thin enough, easy to drill holes in and zip tie stuff to said holes.

Find one with a hydro pocket , usally the top flap is velcro mount a holster to some cordura that is cut to fit, 6 sheets sewn together should be firm enough with out making it fell like you have a board in there.

I will try to get pics of the back of my Explorer tomorrow. I made a SwissGear laptop bag into my 'oh shit' bag.

Contents include:
1 loaded AR mag
2 loaded Glock 17 mags
1 box 9mm ball S&B ammo
Fire starting kit I made with a ziploc bag of dryer lint, a flint, old knife, and a lighter
Socks
Trash bag
Paper towels
tightly wrapped duct tape
50' para cord
1 MRE
water tight pill container with asprin and my migrane meds
Leatherman Blast
Old Gander Mtn. flash light
Extra CR123 batteries

And some other stuff I can't think of now.  It's descrete and doesn't looke tacticool or draw any attention. Would just look like a college kid

I wish Maxpedition would make a very normal looking Jansport bag with all the pockets and hook and loop stuff on the inside.

They have some bags which come close, but not close enough.
