Any clue how to find out the manufacturer of my Pre-ban upper it is a flat top CAR style 16 inch with the bayonet lug, but the only barrel markings are 556 and SS ...please let me know if you have any idea.......Mark

Sounds like an Olympic Arms to me.  They were often just marked "5.56 SS"....  stainless steel.
