I just kind of figured any 10x12 would fit but began seeing plates on EE that say "will not fit an Interceptor" and they probably know better than me. What has to be special about the plates for them to fit? Thanks for any responses in advance.

All the 10x12 flat and curved plates I've ever used fit mine just fine..........not sure which one's they were referring to. They might be out there, but none I've used caused a problem.

i was just told that the sizes of interceptor below Large take smaller plates, only 1/2 inch or so smaller so still 10x12 when rounded up, but haven't seen one for myself to verify. a size Large takes a 10x12 with a little extra room in both directions so it could be that there are 1/2 inch larger plates and not smaller, but i don't have the money to find out.

ETA: i just looked at some issue plates earlier, and they are slightly bigger and smaller than 10x12. it seems police plates are all more-or-less right on 10x12, but the military issues some quite a bit larger. i was also told that upwards of 85% of what the military issues are size M, vest and plate.

My unit issues plates by size. For example a Medium Interceptor comes with a medium plate. Same goes for small and large. I currently have medium plates in my vest. It even says it right on the plate. Hope that helps.
