I have been bitten by the NFA bug.  I recently sent off my form 1 for my SBS, so once it comes back approved I figure its time to start pondering future purchases.  The 2 guns I want are a Thompson 1927 SBR and a 11.5" AR.  I already have a 16" AR and I am wanting to diversify my collection a little bit.  I figured I could build the AR much cheaper than I could get the thompson for, but I have always wanted a more correct looking and feeling thompson than the regular 16" barreled versions.  So which one would you get? Do you think that the thompson is worth the $$, or do you think the AR is a better investment?

Short rifles are an investment in fun only.  Since they can be bought/made brand new every day, there is no way to recoup depreciation and the transfer tax. The only thing that can be a financial investment is full auto.

Silencers are an investment in hearing protection.

With minor fitting a military barrel will screw right onto the Tommy Gun semi that you have.

I would get a  barrel for the Thompson . for fun , but not for investment.
