Hey all,
Well, I think I'm going to venture into the world of suppressors. I've decided I'd like a .22/can setup. I've heard of most of the big manufactures and have to do more research on it. However, I'm not sure as to what "platform" would be best. I have Ruger MkII's, a Browning Buckmark, and of course 1911's and a 10/22. I KNOW I want a detachable can (more flexible).

Here are some options (poll coming later)

1911/Marvel conversion
Buckmark
Buckmark with Pac-lite upper
Ruger MkII
Ruger MkII with Pac-lite upper
Ruger MkIII 22/45 (I never actually thought I'd like the looks of a 22/45, but this looks much more refined than the MkII version)
Ruger MkIII 22/45 with Pac-lite upper
CZ75 kadet

Main criteria are durability, accuracy, quietness.
Thoughts?

Rich

P22 with 3.5 barrel. Then wait a couple of months and get either a quick connect warrior or pilot. This is my next setup.

Started with my P22 and AAC Pilot. It came threaded which was a big plus.

I'm currently getting my Ruger 22/45 (MK II) threaded for the Pilot. I ordered a target sear ($18) for the Ruger to improve the trigger. I also have a 2-6x Bushnell scope for it.

I think the CZ Kadet would be my next choice. It is developing a following among guys who have detachable cans.

There is nothing like a Kadet .22! Except maybe the 1911 Marvel conversion.

I just bought a NIB "suppressor ready" CZ-75 Kadet from TROS.

Must have. I just shot an email to Mark to see what it's gonna take.

How much are those Kadet's running?

ikorman,

I'm sure that wasn't cheap for the Noveske job. What did that cost if you don't mind ? It looks great, BTW.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I don't have the P22 as an option mainly because from all the reports I've heard, they're not as durable/reliable/accurate as the Ruger, Browning, CZ offerings.

For those with the CZ Kadet setups, how do you like 'em? I know Hineline has a Marvel setup. Does anyone else?

thanks

I saw these for $ 299 last month (factory non-threaded barrel). That's the cheapest I've seen them. The 1911/Marvel is a fairly expensive setup. The Buckmark with Pac-Lite barrel is a good combination and affordable. My Buckmark has an excellent trigger from the factory.

No problems w/ my p22/pilot setup yet,EXCEPT, the 1.5" of rifleing I somehow managed to ruin near the muzzle. Never done that before. S&W fixed for free, no out of pocket at all, but didn't say boo about the cause.
I'm happy w/ the pistol and S&W

I bought a Kadet kit with extended and threaded barrel from Mark McWillis at www.trosusa.com for $385. He does great work!

$160, return shipping included. The work is phenomenal. You can't tell where the metal was joined AT ALL. I still don't know where the mark is supposed to be.

TEC-22, TAC 67 Suppressor..
Okay, I admit, this is ugly, even in the dark....

I bought the TAC 67 for my P22 and my M11/9, but I had this old TEC22 just laying there, and it was already threaded........

Unless you already have the spare 1911 "lower" lying around

I've got the Ruger MkII/Pac-Lite/Gemtech Outback II combo:

It wears a JPoint now instead of the big red dot. I love this setup. The weight and balance are very good, quiet and very reliable with the Remington bulk packs.
