Does anyone know where to find an adaptor to convert an AR15 bolt carrier to an M16 bolt carrier?  I need this for a Ciener belt feed upper I have.

Bushmaster used to sell them, but no longer.

They tended to come loose and shift position no matter how tight you got them.  Save yourself the headaches associated with that gimmick and get an M16 carrier.

Unfortunately this is not an option.  The Ciener belt feds have a specially modified carrier.

Thanks for the input.

Yeah - I forgot about the slot cut into the carrier for the feed mechanism.

I would think though that a good machinist (someone like m60joe) could easily duplicate the cut in an M16 carrier.

Just a thought.

Do you have his e-mail address?  He is not accepting IMs.

I would think that if you brought the Ciener semi and a full auto to a competent machine shop, they should be able to modify the F/A.  I personally would bring three F/A carriers.  Most of the time the set up time is much more than the actual machining time.

Just for the hell of it, have you contacted Ciener to see if he had any carriers in stock?  It wouldn't hurt to ask.

I would put a rod down the carrier to shield the inside, and then just weld up the area missing.  You can then turn it down on the lathe and trim it back with a grinder till your timing was perfect.
