Is this it?

US GI Web Slings, used, As-New - You do not find original GI green web slings in this condition often, as they were used to the hilt, if only to carry the rifle. These are off rifles that seem to be unissued after the new sling was put on, so the slings appear to be close to new, fresh green color, minimal wear. Get one today!

I have purchased several slings from Freds, the ones he has listed for $5.00 are excellent to new shape.

I've picked up a couple from CDNN.

cat 1: Price has gone up at Fred's. Ordered Monday nite and received on Wednesday afternoon. Wow, talk about service. Cost plus shipping for an as new sling is now $8. HTH

are you looking for a web or nylon one in od? when did the .mil start using the od nylon sling for the garand/m-14?

I think nylon would be too new.

I like mine but I took the hook off because I thought that rattle was annoying. Did they really use the sling with that hook while in combat? Wouldn't the noise be a liability?

ETA: Unfortunatly, I just realized I lost the hook. I thought I put into a certain storage box, but it's gone. Even though I wasn't using the hook it was a nice sling dated 1964 and I didn't want to break it up permanantly.
Found it! Hell, I had to clean out the walk in closet anyway!
