Hey guys i need some help.

I'm heading to a gun show on Saturday, where i hope to come across a nice M1 Garand. However, i dont really know much about them..

Could you guys give me a few points/tips on what to look for, so i can make sure im getting a good gun.

run a search.  there have been MANY threads with your exact subject line

1) Low throat erosion/Muzzle Wear (the lower the number, the better, but the avereage is 3 at both ends)

2) No pitting on the receiver.

3) No excessive wear on critical parts, including the barrel

4) Decent wear on the parkerizing

5) Sound Stock with no heavy gouches, repairs or cracks

6) matching parts (which is hard considering that most Garands out there have been arsenal rebuild at one point or another.)
