that you went thru in a day? Not counting you full auto guys and gals out there, cause you would clearly have us beat. I went thru 1000 rounds, 500 rounds of 7.62x39, and 500 rounds of 223. In two AK`s and AR`s respectivly. So I wanna know who`s got me beat and who came close!

My personal best for one day is 2500 rounds of .223, .556x45 ( I was prairie dog hunting)
the 6 day trip I used 7,500 rounds of Rifle ammo. I will never do that again
Link Posted: 4/13/2004 8:25:07 AM EST
For me personally: 700 rnds/.223, 500 rnds./ .308

raf I was really just asking how much ammo you personally have burned off in ONE day. As I almost never get close.
See I found a range that allows rapid fire and I`m usually stuck to just slow fire.

To answer your question; no I`m not really training I`m just having fun, CASES of it
Link Posted: 4/13/2004 10:48:59 AM EST
I think my personal best is 5 or 6 cases of various calibers. 1400rds of 7.62x39 out of an SKS, 1 case of 1000 .45 out of a 1911, 1 case 1000 of 9mm out of a SigP226 and RugerP85MKII, 2 cases 1000/cs .308 via STG-58(FAL), HB Izzy type FAL, and M1A1, 800rds of reloaded .357 and .38 from a S&W 686, and 2000-2500 of .22lr from 10/22 and MkII. Forgive me, no .223 as this was before I began to play with ARs, otherwise it would surely have been another 1000 rounds...

No - no MG's were involved for those that know me. However, we have an advantage were I am - in the summer, we have 24hrs a day sunlight. That allows for some serious trigger time. Your own personal endurance factor becomes the only issue as long as you don't run out of ammo. I bring drinks and there are plenty of bushes to go do your business. Had I had snacks, I would have stayed longer. I was there so long, some people who were there when I got there left and came back again the next day. Wimps!

Now that I have MG's, I can't make the ammo last as long. In order to make it last longer, I avoid bringing mag loaders, I shoot single action 22 rimfire revolvers, and I even take breaks and fire muzzle loaders.

If all that isn't something, consider that when I am home for the limited time I get each year to do so, I go shooting pretty much EVERY DAY. First snack/brunch, shooting, then whatever else is on the list. So let me know when you want to see who has shot what over the course of a week or two and then I can really drop some numbers on you.

I shoot about three hours a week.
Usually I take a 22 and a couple of centerfire rifles. When I go downrange to check my targets I do a little revolver practice.

!00 rounds of rifle including about half rimfire and 30-50 rds. of handgun would be a really big day.

Really like to get in to it on each shot, like it was life and death.

Oh, the most in one day, 200 rds.

If military counts: maybe 500rds individual weapon.

I bought 1k of S&B then found out it wasn't range friendly. I used up ~200 at a DNR range then went to an old gravel pit and used up the rest.

Never knew ammo disposal could be such hard work!

I personally shoot at least 1000 rounds each time i go to the range. Then again my favorite round is the 22LR so 1K is only $20. Shooting my ar or 12 gauge is an all day afair and I still don't go through that much.
Link Posted: 4/13/2004 8:38:46 PM EST
100 rounds of .45ACP, 200 rounds of 9mm, and 20 rounds of .22LR in semiauto

12,500 rounds of 7.62mm linked in one day w/ MG.

Yeah, I guess 3 rounds of WP from a 155 howitzer counts for ever more? Willy Pete is great stuff...

500 rounds of 223 (it was wolf. I did'nt know any better back then LOL)
400 rounds of 7.62 x 39
200 rounds of 45 thru a Colt 1911
200 rounds of 38 thru a S&W model 10
200 rounds of 9mm
100 rounds of 22 lr
Link Posted: 4/14/2004 10:17:52 AM EST
Hmm. Biggest pistol shoot I ever did...

120 rounds of .45 thru SA 1911
150 rounds of 9x18 thru PA-63
200 rounds of 9mm thru Baby Eagle and CZ P-01

I try not to mix shooting rifles and pistols, takes too long to clean.

<3 9mm & 7.62x39 for cheapness

5 or 6 cases in a single shoot?

Maybe a few hundred rounds, 500 at the most. But last weekend I did shoot 110rds of 30.06, 55 in a John C Garand match then another 55 in a military bolt action match using a M1903A3.
Thank god for recoil pads

Out of the same calibler in one sitting, 1k rounds of 9mm. I had to load up all of my Beretta mags four times!

Do .177 BB's count? If so THOUSANDS

On the real. I would say 1500 in one day.

Couple of hundred rounds at the most, I hate loading all those mags.
Link Posted: 4/30/2004 3:12:09 AM EST
The most I ever shot in one day was during a tactical class I attended. I wasn't keeping a daily count, but I did burn through about 1400 rounds over two days. More shooting on the first day, so I'd guess about 800 rounds that day.
Link Posted: 4/30/2004 5:18:13 PM EST
A good day at the range, I go throuhg about 100 7.62x39, about the same .223, then switch to my rimfire AR and do about another 1k rounds.

I went through 5-500 rd bulk packs of .22 in one day before.

I try to go through 1 each time I go shoot the .22s
Link Posted: 5/2/2004 9:42:50 AM EST
my "best" day was 800 rds total
400 Wolf 7.62 for the YugoSKS
200 S&B .30cal for the M1 Carbine
200 Wolf .223 for the '4orgery

combined with perfect weather...

Remember once in Germany in 90 shooting a 1000rds through my Walther P4 (alloy frame P38 with shorter bbl) in 3 hours. Only had two 8 round mags. Aftter that about another 1000 rounds of 45 through M3 SMGs.

During another training day about 1500 rds 5.56 and another 800rds through the M9 all semi.
Many times several cases (1680rds ea) but no exact count and some small amount of full auto involed.

Wednesday we fired 30,000 rounds of 7.62mm through 3 ea Dillon Miniguns. Talk about FUN! 50 rounds per second! Mike Dillon was present and a very nice guy. No, he didn't load the ammo.

Sounds like sore thumbs and cramping trigger fingers.

1200 rds .40cal Glock 23. First day I had it. Now i average 20-50 12 gague shotgun rounds, 150-300 handgun rounds (mostly my Glock). Generaly this ammount takes me a few hours. But if I am just having fun and not realy "training" I will blast through this in no time.
