One thing I've noticed about most gear manufacturers, is that if they build a 308 pouch that fits an M14 mag, they assume that it will fit FAL (correct) and G3 (incorrect) mags.  G3 mags have over-insertion flanges and a floorplate that is wider than the mag body, so they don't really fit in most 308 pouches.

What MOLLE pouches have you personally used and/or seen that really work with G3 mags?

That's a great question.  I'll be watching this thread for good answers.  I've a friend that has an HK 91 and he was just asking me what new stuff is out that'll fit his mags.

I just tried an aluminum G3 mag in an older CQB (now Specter Gear) universal 2 mag pouch and it fit both right side up and upside down, but was very snug.

I then tried it in a SDS 2 mag M16 pouch (the one with the two shotgun shell holders on front, Tactical Tailor makes what looks like the same pouch). Fit both ways fine, the elastic drawstring can be used to adjust for tension.

I also tried it in a Blackhawk 2 mag 3 pouch M16 molle shingle. It fit both ways, very snug.

Both the Blackhawk and Specter pouches have elastic around the pouch. This is why they were very snug. The SDS uses the elastic drawstring, so it can fit tight to loose, your choice. Hope this helps.

I'll be getting some High Speed Gear Universal Mag pouches on Wednesday and my neighbor has a CETME and I'll see how they fit with his Aluminum G3 mags.

I have a PTR91.
The Tactical Tailor Double .308 pouches work great for G3 mags.
I prefer the Tactical Tailor Single .308 pouches. Faster, quieter access and just as snug.

I went with these but for M-14/AR-10 mags, they don't have a pic of it up yet.

They were out of stock on every thing else that held four .308 mags. This is close to the TAG pouch.

YOU MUST ORDER THE #PRUMP- 2308 VERSION! The link is a pic of the .223 version. They got it here in two days from Kaliforniastan!

Unfortunately the HSGI mag pouches only really work with one G3 mag and won't even fit a second one.

My mag pouches just came in today and so far I really like them.

I don't see why these would'nt work with G3 mags...

They look nice, but I can almost tell from the pics that they won't work, unless that material is a good deal more stretchy than it looks.

G3 mags are rectangular and not trapezoidal (bigger) plus they have over-insertion flanges on the outside.  Those pouches look snug with M14 mags...

I think it will work because them material that keeps the snug is elastic and will stretch. I wish I still had some G3 mags that way I could show you. These pouches are called a universal .308 pouch, as popular as the G3 is they should designed them to work. I will ask a buddy if he still has his G3 and try to get some mags if you are interested in the pouch.

I would very much appreciate that.  Either I'll find a nice pouch that works, or you'll get a chance to see what I'm talking about.  They may indeed fit, but also take a look at how they snag on being pulled out.

BTW, almost every 308 pouch is billed as "universal", but they're not...
