Some other post mentioned epoxy?

A complete degreasing is of course necessary prior to painting?

Any other pointers?

If you absolutely, positively want the very best camo finish that is to be had, send your rifle to Robar and let them do it.

If you want to go "milspec", I understand that the guys in the specops units use Rust-o-Leum.

www.fredsm14stocks.com has rifle camo paints for sale.

Tiger Stripe looks cool, I don't like the civvie camo designs used on Bushmaster's rifles.

Bowflage, easiest to take off if the weapon needs to go in for Depot level maint. Also Higher ranks just dont like camo weapons at their change of commands.

My primary concern is are the paints Hoppes solvent proof?
I don't want to spray Hoppes on them and have the paint wipe off.
I'm not at the point of having to put big money in a ROBAR finish. Although they are nice finishes.
