The title says it all. What is your favorite .22 subsonic ammo and why? I'm waiting on a .22 can and would like to go ahead and start buying sub ammo for it. Also any links to the cheapest place you've found it would be super.

Thanks guys,
Pike

ETA: Let me be specific and say I'm looking for ammo to shoot out of my CMMG AR-22 and a soon to own bolt action .22.

CCI Standard Velocity is hard to beat.

Yes, it stays sub-sonic out of my 10/22 and CZ452 and they are both 16" barrels.

Winchester SuperX Subsonics or CCI Standards
Link Posted: 11/9/2012 5:18:58 AM EST
CCI standard

I have some Remington subsonic that has a lot of duds. Won't be buying any more.
PMC subsonic is good but no longer available

I have always had good look with Remington subs, the Winchesters from my guns dont seem to want to group worth a damn out of my three host guns. CCI arent readily available where I am at so I dont have much experience with them. I had no issues with the Aguila 32gr subsonic s they are just more expensive and not as available.

Gemtech ammo is my go-to right now.

I love the Winchesters when I can find them, they cycle all my semi's and are very quiet & seem hard hitting.. The CCI Standards are a good choice in their place, or maybe Remington subs, which are common locally.

I have been shooting CCI Quiets in my bolt guns and they are the quietest by far of anything I've tried, but definetly a no go in my semi's. They're cheap and plentyful locally.

CCI standard vel.
It is the one they should sell at Walmart, instead of Rem. Subsonics.

Well thanks guys, I'll be on the look out for some CCI standard and even some winchester and gemtech. Figured it won't hurt to try a few of them. Thanks for all the help everyone.

CCI standard velocity, generally pretty consistent stuff and only a few out of every hundred go supersonic.

cci std. winchester hp sub. . remington sub go super about 20% of the time

Aguila subs for me. Cost is reasonable and they offer both solids and HP's.

They are almost as accurate as Wolf, RWS and Federal GM out of my low end plinker hosts from Ruger & Savage.

I was using CCI Standard but found it near impossible to buy locally. Ordering it online as also a pain as everyone was out of stock. I bought 5000 rounds of the GemTech stuff and I am in love. Its very clean and consistent for me. I will use the CCI standard for letting the wife plink.

Has anyone tried out the Remington surplus SV from the CMP in a suppressor? Any problems with it? How did it sound? I have used the Remington unsuppressed in a couple of my .22s with no problems, just waiting on my stamp to come back from th ATF. Have 10k of it sitting in the pile.

With a 1:9 twist barrel they will stablize better. This load is comprable to most 223 subs commonly available, so it has a little more umph.

I was not referring to the 60 grain SSS ammo, I meant the 40 grain solids and 38 grain HP stuff.

I like Winchester. Seems the quietest and still cycles my autos. Great for squirrels and stuff too, huge hollow point.

I've had good luck with Remington subs, Aguila 40gr subs, as well as Wolf match.

Yet another vote for Gemtech.

While I use Remington subs simply because they are more readily Avaliable, I can hear noticeable sound differences. Almost like subsonics got mixed in with supersonics.

I bought 100 rounds of CCI sub sonic yesterday. Seemed kinda high but I said fuck it and bought it anyways. I've been on the look out for all the different types of ammo you guys have listed

The Lapua subs are hands down the most accurate, cleanest burning, expanding .22 specialty ammo I have ever fired.

The bad news is price and availability. The last box I had was around $18 for 50. Excellent performance, but just not worth it for my needs.

Gemtech SS and CCI standards is about all I buy now.

I found it supersonic out of a rifle and subsonic out of a pistol.
