I need to know the average velocity (or Feet Per Second) of the .38 special, the .38 special +P and the .38 special +P+.

I appreciate any help in this are. Such as were you found this info.

Depends on:

Load
bullet weight
barrel length

In general, the .38 Sp velocity might vary from 600-1000 fps.

"+P" and "+P+" are simply indicators that the loads exceed SAAMI spec pressures. They tell nothing direct about velocities.

The actual "airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow" falls between 20-30mph.

Forget the beer--if you're ever in east TN, bring ammo.
