Really roughly it equates to a 1" group at 100 yds, 2" group at 200 yds, etc...

A circle has 360 degrees. Each degree can be subdivided into 60 minutes for more precision. So 1 MOA is 1/60th of 1 degree of angle. This works out to just over 1 inch per 100 yards.

MOA refers to an angular unit of measure that subtends 1.047 inches @ 100 yards. Like they said above, 1 MOA = 1" @ 100, 2 MOA = 2" @ 200, etc...
2 MOA @ 100 = 2" and @ 200 = 4". 3 MOA @ 300 = 9" and so on. |
