They both are two bullpups made by what many people might consider "not tier 1" companies as far as quality is concerned.  I don't own either, I've held both though but can't really comment on that.  Now the RFB I believe is cheaper than the MSARs now, has forward eject for brass, and the punch of a .308.  MSAR, well it's more, but shoots cheaper amunition, and is slightly more compact with a 16 in. barrel.  Just wondering which would be a better buy.

If I read correctly,

Ratworx has spare parts for msars, whereas if an rfb broke it would mean shipping the rifle.
Kel-tec is not in bankruptcy, and is coming out with new products and still offers factory support.

There other pros/cons but I can't think of them right now

"better" is subjective...

Also, I wouldn't short-change Kel-Tec on quality and customer service.  MSAR is a different story...

I recently saw a RFB in my local gun shop, and didn't hesitate to buy.  It's extremely impressive, fun to shoot, and accurate.

AUG's (and clones} are also impressive, fun, and accurate. While 7.62nato is superior it is also more expensive...

Gunbroker is a good place to get a feel for the average pricing...

Good luck!

Get both.

They are both a lot of gun for the money, RFB if you want to hunt something. MSAR if you want a fun inexpensive gun to shoot.

With the RFB you get great mfg backing. Cust. Serv is great. Looks cool as ice. Heavy though.

I'm intregued by the RFB and will likely get one at some point.  My reluctance is the relative durabilty of Keltec products.  Customer support doesn't matter if you get smoked because your EBR broke.

I'd recommend you looking at the RFB or the Steyr A3.  They are different but the Steyr is likely more sustainable over the long term then the MSAR

I've had both for a while and just this past weekend sold my KT RFB.

While I like the RFB quite a bit a couple of things led me to sell it.  First off shooting .308 gets expensive and feeding a semi-auto and bolt action was not in the cards.  Second while it was a fun gun to shoot and own, I couldn't think of it as being practical for home defense where I live.

If I were in the position to collect guns I would have kept it, but it was not a essential part of my collection and has been replaced with a Noveske 300blk upper that will be used for hunting this fall.

I own an RFB and 2 MSARs.  I shoot my MSARs way more.

The RFB is cool but it's juts kind of "cool" and that's it.  It may be replaced by a SCAR when they come down in price.

That's what I was trying to say

The RFB definitely had me smiling ear to ear when it came out.

The thing I can't get past though is that you can't perform a chamber check on the darn thing.  That kind of sucks.

Value of the MSAR?  In the past few months they've gone up slightly at least in what they're selling for on Gunbroker and most the shops now only have for them for near MSRP prices.  What will their value be when or if MSAR liquidates and closes? No idea. No idea if someone will pick up MSAR.  No idea if it's going to be a Sabre Defence situation or a Charles Daly situation.

I don't have an MSAR but I do have four bullpups and I chose the AUG over the MSAR.  I got the AUG because of too many horror stories about the MSARS.  I decided that I wanted the real thing and not a xerox.  For you that love your MSARS good for you.  I don't have a problem with that, to each his own.

I also have the RFB.  Yes, it's a kewl rifle and I can afford to keep it, at least for now as long as obongo doesn't completely kill the economy.

I love the 308 and have at several different platforms chambered in 308.  Sure, it's more expensive to shoot than the 223/556 but so what, it's fun.

I'd say that if I had to choose I think I'd take a rifle from a company that is still in business and has a decent reputation than a company that's in chapter 7 and has a horrible reputation.

That would be Ch. 11. BIG difference.

Are you sure about that?  I don't know how accurate this chart is, but by looking at pictures it looks close.  I think the RFB's overall length is equal too if not shorter than a 16" AUG.

I'm still waiting for mine to get here so I can't compare it to my AXR.  Here are some pics of it next to other pups for comparison.
