Just sitting here bored so i thought I'd ask! Me, I preferr steel plates, and tannerite once in awhile.  A few months ago I took a running lawnmower out with me, that was pretty cool. How about you guys.

I watched a vid of a running push mower blasted by a 50.  Pretty cool.

I haven't really shot anything with mine yet.  Just blasted a couple rounds to get a feel for what I'm up against!

I did think about buying a car to blast out of the paper.  They're in there all the time for a hundred bucks.  Not worth a crap or running, of course.

My wife works at the Portland zoo.  She is able, through a friend,  to pick up burlap bags full of elephant droppings.    We take these out of the bag and set these monsters up at 300, 500, 750 yards and set to work on these.  When hit with a 750 AMAX these rascals explode like there was a grenade inside.  Alot of fun if your like me and enjoy shooting the shit.

So...  do these burlap bags ride to the range in the passanger seat?

Well...I thought you could.  I'm looking for a target holder.

I've got a 12x12 by 1 1/4 inch thick steel plate I used to use as a gong.

Now, it's a whittled away pathetic pile of swiss cheese after absorbing around 30-40 shots of 50 AP, only 4 have completely penetrated it at 150-200 yards.

Old picture of it when it was hit by 5.56(small craters), 300WinMag 190s(big craters), and 165grn AP at 3200fps from the 300WinMag(medium sized funky looking craters).

Old pic

Current close up of the plate, small craters are impacts from 5.56 at around 300 yards.

This is a 20"X20",1.5" thick plate at 500 yards. API hits almost did it. AP round stuck in the plate.

Both you guys live in OR yet have not made any of the local shoots and you own 50s!
Check out the Oregon hometown forum dammit!
We have a pretty active group of people that shoot at least once a month with large shoots 4 times a year.

Now report to the Oregon HT forum ASAP!

50 AP through 1" mild steel plate...

Note: You will notice that there is an indented rim where the bullet shed copper jacket and lead from around steel core. This copper and lead deflects back to shooter! Jacket flew back and punctured toolbox two feet away on my right. BEWARE SHOOTING STEEL PLATES!

50 AP steel cores almost penetrating 2nd 1" steel plate placedbehind 1st 1" steel plate.

Note: One round passed through both plates! (2"!) (bottom of pic)
