I saw one at the gun show this weekend.  It is a carbine with one of those collapsible metal wire stocks, uses AR mags.  Guys says it is pre-ban but I don't know to check with.  If I remember correctly, the rifle is marked:

IA CO
SAC'TO, CA
0308xx

I assume this is IA Company in Sacramento, CA., then the serial number.  Anyone know who this importer is, and any contact info?

What about reliability, accuracy, etc.?  I've heard decent things about Daewoo but haven't heard anyone overly passionate about them.  I have a small collection of ARs already and my collection will continue to grow.  I just thought this Daewoo would be something different to keep a lot of standard stuff company in the safe.

By the way, the price was around $1000.  If actually pre-ban, is that a good deal?

It's not a horrible deal, but not great either.

This Daewoo is the less-common variety with the AR15-style gas system, as opposed to the more-common Daewoo with the Kalash-style gas system and the excellent folding stock.  It is at least a bit rare, I haven't seen one in a couple of years.

There used to be a place called Old Sacramento Armory on one of the Sacto streets named after a letter which also imported and wholesaled a bunch of neat stuff.  But I can't remember what the wholesale company's name was.

Hope that helps a little . . .
