Got one for Christmas, would like to get some ammunition.
What caliber is it? 8mm Mauser? Thanks.

if original (and a recent import) it is more than likely 8mm mauser.

Most were probably 8mm, but I have an original in the safe that is a 7mm(7x57).

So if it wont chamber the 8mm mauser, go with 7 then eh? Seems like an easy enough test, hell even I cant crew that up.

If it is a 7mm then it will probably have some spanish or portugese writing on it. Would probably have a Crest from one of our neighbors from the south.
