Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What are the differences in a A-1 and A-2 front sight

I am wondering if the are any differences between the two front sight bases and front sight post. I am really shooting high with an A-1 front sight post on a A-3 upper using a A-2 style removeable carry handle. The rear sight is all the way down and the front sight is almost all the way up

All I know is that the A1 is round and has a five slot base, the A2 is square and has a four slot base.

That is indeed the sum total of all the differences between the A1 and A2 FRONT sights.

The rear sights are, of course, quite different.   The A1 rear sight is probably better in terms of stability and simplicity, but the A2 is definitely more adjustable and much cooler.

I seem to recall that some carry handles are too tall.
