I use Remington Golden Bullets in mine because they have been the most reliable.

My High Standard is a little picky on ammo. You may find that yours will only shoot certain types of ammo without mis-feeding, and of the ammo it will feed reliably only a few will shoot really well. Mine shoots patterns at 50 and 100 yards with anything except Eley Pistol (either standard or target versions). If I am after accuracy I use the Eley, and if I am plinking tin cans I use almost any high velocity with plated (?) bullets for reliable feeding. Confirming that every pistol is a rule until itself - mine will not shoot remington ammo reliably or accurately.
