I'm going to buy one off my friend for cheap and I wondered if there is some kind of spray coating I could buy at a hardware to keep it from rusting in my truck.  Also what kind of cheap hollow points can one of these eat all day or can they eat anything.  thanks.

dont know about waterproofing but you could keep it oil properly with some dri-lube(teflon) and it should do the trick.

depends on the condition of the rifle but most newer 10/22's would eat almost any round fed through it.  I would suggest replacing the extractor with a volquartsen or equivlent.  other than that is it a ss 10/22, if so use some clp or tetra grease and you'd should be fine
