Got a question concerning a few dimensional details on a MP5K recoil assembly.

On the POF MP5K bolt carrier that I have, the recoil spring hole is "stepped" with a .485 inches ID at the end and .508 inches about 1/4 inch in.

The HK recoil spring assembly spring retainer "plastic" piece that I have is .494 inches OD.

As you can see, the HK recoil spring assembly is too big to fit in the POF bolt carrier.

Any hints on how to put the two together?  Do I need to shave the OD of the plastic piece on the recoil spring or am I missing something?

I don't know enough about the MP5 system yet to be much use, but I'm going to assume that the spring guide is the cheapest part.  Make that smaller.  Inceidently, what's teh diameter of the spring?  If it's bigger than the bolt carrier hole, that'll be no good, and I would think about honing out the BC.

The recoil rod/spring will take a little finagling to get in the carrier. If you kind of rotate it around as you try to get it in, it will eventually work itself in there. Obviously, you don't want to remove it too often, as that will eventually wear down the nylon retainer.

Thanks for the feedback.

I tilted the recoil spring plastic piece one way and then the other and it "easily" fell into the bolt carrier hole.   No machining/polishing was required.  hanks
Again, thanks,
