Howdee all,

I have a full size GI/Vector RR, and I am considering mounting a Vortex SPARC II or SPARC AR.
Richard at BWE has topcovers with a rail mounted.

Has anyone mounted a Vortex to their Uzi and how did it work out?
Any preferences for red dot choices?
I was thinking of the AR, but someone more knowledgeable then me suggested the SPARC II because it will mount lower and co-witness with the irons.
Thoughts...??

Thanks,
-CG

I have mounted a couple of these and the customers were happy.

I was the first to use a Tasco Optima on an UZI about 15 years ago.  Then used the Docter Optics when it came out, then later the Burris FF's and Trijicon RMR's.
Others have copied it over the years and I got out of it probably 6 or so years ago.
All those are absolute co-witness with the red dot right on top of the front sight post.  If you go with a rail on the topcover, I don't think any red dot will absolute co-witness to my knowledge.  I've never tried a SPARC II but I know any of the Docter's, RMR's or Burris will NOT co-witness if you use a picatinny mount with those so I find it hard to believe a SPARC could get lower than one of those.

I had a rail top cover and a cheapo red dot on the Uzi years ago.  I could never shoot any better than my mediocre ability with the regular iron sights provide so I put the regular top cover back on.  I'm not a competitive level shooter, just recreational Uzi shooting.

MHO, YMMV, etc.

I've got a stormwerkz rail and an aimpoint h1

awesome set up

it doesn't co-witness but I don't care.  I never use the irons anyway

I don't have a full auto Uzi but have Burris fastfires mounted on my full size and mini semi rifles.  Cowitness and hold zero well.  I'm very happy with the setup.
