For 22 years, I lived near the thriving metropolis of Oriskany NY. I shot at the Paris Gun Club, Deerfield and Greenfield. Seven years ago I moved to NJ. Didn't know how good I had it in NY.

Depending on wether I'm at my parents or at school I can be found in Broome or Oswego county. There is a nice range close to Broome, the Tioga County Sportsman association that I sometimes frequent.

It's the Southern Dutchess Putman Sportsman Association off Cedar Hill Road. Another AR15er told us about it. I just joined last month and they still have openings. Email me if you want more info.

Where in Dutchess County do you live? My girlfriend's parents live near Tivoli Bays and I have spent many hours down there in pursuit of squirrels, deer, and pheasants. On a off subject topic, do you know of any places where myself and about five others can fish for stripers from shore? We used to go to Germantown (Cheviot), but Amtrak has put up fences to keep people from going down by the tracks. In closing, it's good to hear from other NY shooters, especially those close to home.

hey gunner!
i live in Beacon, though i'm not too proud to admit it...

anyway, i see people fishing on the banks from Beacon to Peekskill, parking at Metro North is free on w/ends. in Beacon, you can park on the river side of the lots, and walk about 200 meters South (just past the sailboats). there is a huge flat area that they are going to turn into a park and condo complex, but for now it should be good. Cortland Station, just South of Peekskill is nice too, people launch kyaks form there, and there is a small bird refuge on the mainland side, and good fishing on the banks just opposite. good luck!

and yes, i had no idea so many AR15ers were in my area! very nice!

Another L.I. guy. I shoot Huntington, Calverton and since the Suffolk County Trap and Skeet closed I shoot skeet at Brookhaven. When it is not cold I shoot most every week. I know several of you are NYCPD like myself.I shoot skeet for the Department at the NYS law enforcement games. We are looking for new team membes to form a new squad. If you shoot skeet or trap give me a call. The 103 knows how to get me. MIKE.
