I made a small batch of 55gr ammo that is underloaded. I somehow did not have my scale dialed in correctly and instead of weighing a 25.4 gr load of H335, I loaded only a 20.4gr load.  I see that my Hornady manual suggests a starting load of 20.8gr.

Should pull these?

Worse case you stick a bullet in the barrel.  So then you will have to take some type of rod and beat it out of the barrel.

I am willing to bet they will shoot.

Primer alone will get it an inch or two down the barrel.

If you don't like those choices, other choice is to pull them.

If it were me, I would pull them.

Under the start load there is a risk they might not function or possibly stick in the bore.

How many are we talking?

That's what I'm afraid of. I'd rather scrap these than take a chance of getting one stuck. I ran three batches of 10rds so 30 total. I have a kinetic puller but it really feels unnatural to beat a loaded round like that. Any recommendations on a good puller?

For 30 rounds the kinetic puller will be fine.  If you don't like that, then buy a bullet puller that goes in the reloading press.  Most places call it a collet puller.

Thanks for the opinions and help. It affirmed what I already figured on. These will get set aside and pulled apart. Just validates being vigilant in the QC process. Lesson learned.

I segregated them into a coolwhip tub, taped the lid and sharpied the details on it! I plan to pull them this week but I did this in case life gets in the way.

There is absolutely no way (in this particular case)  that being under the recommended start load by that amount is going to stick a bullet in the barrel.

If you were to look at other data sources you very likely will find a start load lower than what you loaded those.

I agree considering the small amount that pulling them is what I would do. But to suggest that they will cause some type of major problem is ridiculous.

At the very worst they may not cycle. That's it.

I did something similar when loading for 6mm. Ended up 2 gr light (35 gr and min was 37 gr). I was hesitant to shoot them, but I was using 4895 which is used in low recoil loads so I decided it was probably okay - and it was. They shot fine with no noticeable difference. Different data sources have different min/max so I don't think any given min is an absolute.

I prefer the collet pull method.  I've had to fix many rounds over the years and it seems to work for me.

If OP is near Toledo,  I'm right up I-75 and he can use mine.

A kinetic puller has nothing touching the primer at any time, so nothing dangerous is getting banged around. Just do not substitute a shell holder for the collet . . . a slightly high primer can fit and still make contact.

A little soft material stuffed at the bottom of the tube can protect the bullet tip from damage when it leaves the case.

I know the kinetic is GTG but I'll probbly grab the collet puller on amazon just to have it on hand.

Those are terrible choices - yeah just beat it out of your rifle  barrel..  I'd pull them.
