I was a little leery of these mags, but I figured for 10 bucks, it was a worthwhile gamble.  Has anyone here tried them yet?

USA MAGS stays in business by selling to folks that are new to firearms and don't yet know not to buy them.

Maybe if somebody is paying you $10 to take them.

BTW,I'm not joking.

Fill them with cement - they make good door stops

Lots of negative feedback.  Can anyone articulate what makes them bad?

shitty welds
not made to spec despite what they say
they will turn your gun into a jammomatic

Stamped "bumps" instead of welded-on locking lugs.

Everything about them is out of Spec. Steel is too soft, feed lips stretch. Springs are week and wrong type. Followers too soft, often burred and will bind. Locking tab is stamped in to the out of Spec. Mag. body. Will often drop right out of the rifle under recoil. That's if you can get a decent lock.

Numba ten, you no buy.

+1 to all.

The crappy mags I bought for my CZ-75 years ago wouldn't even fit in the pistol without forcing it...total junk.

It's only a good deal if it works.

Luckily it was a gunbroker auction, and I've been outbid.  I guess some other poor sap will get stuck with them now.  After I drive down to AIM Surplus next week to buy a case of Port, I'll give Armalite a call. :)

Buy one, strip it and pound a section of wood into the mag itself.....Same goes for a AR15 20 rounders.

You now have a cheap way to solidly mount your M14/M1A or AR15 by inserting the wood filled mag body into a vise and tighten against the cheap mag..........Worth $10.00 to me for this intended purpose

Here's a link to a guy at amback who has what he claims to be genuine Chi Com M14 Mags. From his description they sound legit. If you are on a budget, the price is right and these are excellent mags. He's in Ohio too. BTW, it's not me and I don't know him. I'm tempted to buy them myself.

Also, ammunition store .com still has Taiwanese Type 57 Mags (their M14). These are good Mags as well, or so I'm told.

If I had any 20 round AR15 USA mags you could have them but I never bothered to buy any.

I do have about 30 USGI 20's and another 25 USGI 30's for my AR's though.
