Does anyone know how to get hold of Honey Creek Industries? There are going to start making US made SIG PE57's:

Estimates Price?
Arethey going to do 308 builds? Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

The maker must be very busy, I have not heard anything about price or when they might be available.

|
Doesn't say if it has the loaded chamber indicator, not that it matters that much.

Update:
I just spoke to Mike Adams of Mag Arms, he makes a repair section for the STGW 57. He does not make and sell rifles, he will assemble your parts kit with his receiver section and new .308 barrel for around $1300.00, or $375 less if your kit has original barrel. He told me that he is booked up with builds until about mid-August at the moment. You can get a kit from either Apex or Colorado Gun Supplies(they do not come with barrel). WHOOO HOOOO! I have always wanted a PE57 and here is my chance. Poorman, I am calling them Monday but what is your take on it. Does he seem squared away and prepared to do business? I know you do not know him personally, just asking for your opinion based on your conversation with him.
I had Project Guns build a RPD for me while he moved from his old shop to his new one and it was like pulling teeth! For months it was always " two more weeks and it will be ready" when it was done it was great and runs trouble free. Just hope to not go through that again. |
|
In my opinion, yes, he seemed very squared away. I have also checked a few other forums and he has a good reputation on them as a stand up guy, and I have not seen any bad feedback on his builds. I will be getting my kit from APEX this week and will send it to him when he says he is ready.
|
|
Thanks Poorman, I will contact him tomorrow and it sounds like I will also be calling Apex.

I am sure you can get some from a European source, they are not that rare over there. I will be looking. |
|
Poorman,
Thanks for all of your research and groundwork. I just spoke with Mike about scheduling a build and just ordered a parts kit from APEX. Mike was mentioning that his build times are now out to early December. Thanks again, Roger |

I am looking into getting some |

Any word if he is planning on doing AMT builds?
I have a friend with an excellent/complete parts kit. Wpns Man |

Let me know about the mags from Europe if you are able to get some. It looks like I'll be needing some around the first of next year.
I just got my Apex kit and am sending it down to Mike at Mag Arms. |
|
Poorman,
If you can get up a group buy on mags I am in. When I ordered my kit from Apex the guy I was talking to said Apex is looking into getting some mags. Maybe if you have a contact you could put your guy with Apex if a licensed importer is needed for magazines. |
|
There are a few people working on getting mags from a few different places, so I expect someone will get them in
|
|
Subscribed! I have an Apex kit, they are pretty nice. 1300 isn't out of line for a build of this nature especially considering the barrel. Will be checking with him to see if they are only .308 builds; I would prefer to keep the Swiss caliber if possible.

$2K for a PE57 in 762x51 seems like a good price. Don't like paying $100.00 for mags. But someone should be able to import mags at a reasonable price.

I am having mine done in 7.5 Swiss as I have got hold of a 510-4 kit that I am having built as well |

That is my thought as well. I already have other Swiss rifles, and the ammo isn't any more expensive or harder to find than .308 these days. Plus I'm a SIG nut and tend to be a purist in my collecting so original is a great way to go. I'm also figuring there won't be a lot of these in country, and fewer in the Swiss caliber.
Sounds like you already talked to him. Was pricing the same on either caliber? .308 cartridge has a smaller base, so I was wondering if he had to do bolt mods for that one. |

anybody have a clue what a 7.5 original barrel is going for these days?

View Quote Just wondering since my build will be in 308 and my kit currently has a 7.5 barrel on it. i plan on selling it to recover the cost. I already have a pile of 7.5 mags but sincce Mike says the 7.5 mags work fine in the 308 conversion I am not going to go nuts not having the correct mag. I already have a plan for a spacer for the mags as it is anyway. |

I spoke with Mike last week. His day job is taking up a lot of his time and he has been sick. He feels better now but it sounds like it will be awhile before we see our guns. No need to worry yet, just going to take a little longer is what it sounds like.
|
|
Yes, I got that impression as well. Not a big deal to me I have been waiting for decades, a few more weeks/months are not going to kill me If anyone is interested I have found someone else doing some building these rifles from kits, price is MUCH higher but the work is good.
